What is Bag Stitching?
Bag stitching is the step that closes each filled sack so it's secure for stacking, palletising and transport. Instead of an operator sewing or tying every bag by hand, an automatic stitcher carries the bag along a conveyor, guides the top into the stitching head and sews it closed, bag after bag, all shift long.
Agrimech's stitching systems work with paper, plastic, hessian and poly-banded net sacks, with heat sealing available for PE and poly packaging, for a wide range of products including potatoes, onions, animal feeds, powders and aggregates. Every machine is built in-house in stainless steel for reliable, low-cost running season after season.

Heavy-Duty Sack Stitchers
For high-volume packing lines where the stitcher has to keep pace with a fast weigher and placer all shift. Our heavy-duty stitchers use a Newlong DS9 stitching head with thread break detection, inverter drives for fine control of speed and adjustment, and a virtual touch screen you can reach through a remote access app. Retribution ABC is built for speed on paper sacks. Retribution HNP handles the widest mix of packaging, using a walking beam to control the top of hessian, plastic and net bags.
Retribution ABC: Industrial Heavy-Duty Sack Stitching System
Up to 14 x 25kg/50lb paper sacks per minute*. For paper sacks 860–910 mm long. Motorised side guides for full bag control.

Retribution HNP: Industrial Heavy-Duty Sack Stitching System
Up to 7 x 25kg paper sacks per minute*. For paper, plastic, hessian, poly-banded nets and sacks. Motorised height-adjustable track.

Light-Duty Sack Stitchers
For smaller packhouses, seasonal lines and lighter-duty runs, Mercury brings automatic stitching in a compact, cost-effective machine. It uses a Newlong NP7 stitching head with an automatic thread cutter, a powered in-feed guide belt to keep each bag stable, and an adjustable head that's easy to set up for different products.

Roll Stock Bagging
For net-bagged produce, Arion makes each bag from a roll of net, once filled it stitches and closes the bag. It runs at 25–30 packs per minute, with a vibrating hopper to feed the product and a blocked product sensor that detects a blockage. It suits potatoes, onions, carrots and other produce packed in net bags of different sizes.

Which stitcher is right for my operation?
It depends on your bag type and the speed you need to run at. For high-speed lines packing paper sacks, Retribution ABC runs at up to 14 x 25kg/50lb sacks per minute. For a mix of paper, plastic, hessian and poly-banded net bags, Retribution HNP handles them all. For lighter-duty lines packing paper and plastic sacks, Mercury is a compact, cost-effective option. What bag types can your stitchers handle?
Retribution ABC is built for high-speed paper sacks from 860 mm to 910 mm long. Retribution HNP can handle a range of different sized paper, plastic, hessian, poly-banded nets and sacks. Mercury handles all types of paper and plastic sacks. Arion makes and closes net bags in a range of sizes from the roll.
Can your machines seal plastic bags instead of stitching them?
Yes, our Retribution ABC, Retribution HNP and Mercury Stitching Systems can all be fitted with a heat-sealer for PE or poly packaging.
What products can I pack with an Agrimech stitcher?
Our stitching systems are used for a wide range of products, including potatoes, onions, carrots, animal feeds, powders and aggregates.
Which stitching heads do you use?
Retribution ABC and Retribution HNP use a Newlong DS9 stitching head with thread break detection sensors, with a Fischbein 101 head available as an option. Mercury uses a Newlong NP7 head with an automatic thread cutter. Arion is fitted with a Fischbein stitching head with thread break detection.
What power and air supply does a stitcher need?
Every Agrimech stitcher needs a 16 Amp, 3-phase, neutral and earth supply. Retribution ABC, Retribution HNP and Mercury need cool, clean, dry air at a minimum of 7 bar (102 PSI). Arion needs a minimum of 8 bar (116 PSI).
What warranty and support comes with your stitchers?
Every Agrimech stitcher comes with a 12-month parts and labour warranty, and is backed by our Agri Care and Agri Link support services. A remote engineer link can be fitted so our Engineers can support you over an Ethernet connection.
